Pamela Benson PPRNCM/CERT ED - Biography
A lyrical spinto soprano, Miss Benson studied voice and performance at the RNCM in Manchester, and won a Ralph Vaughan Williams Scholarship to the National Opera Studio, London, England. Also studied in Milan on a Peter Foundation Scholarship. Has performed at the Bayreuth Festspiele, Scottish Opera, Frankfurt Opera and other venues.
Miss Benson has worked with various orchestras including the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. Has performed on a regular basis singing in various concerts and radio broadcasts in the UK and abroad, including the 'Amici di Verdi' at Covent Garden, Amelia (Un Ballo in Maschera) for Neath Opera, Craig-y-nos. She is a member of Equity and the British Voice Association.
She has previously taught at Middlesex University and the Charles Cryer Studio Theatre, Carshalton, Stagecoach Theatre School and is also an Associate Lecturer for the Open University. She is also a recommended teacher for the Philharmonia Chorus.
